Willits Willits is known as the gateway to the Redwood forest. The town is very far north in the county, almost into Humboldt County.
Ukiah Ukiah is physically the largest town in Mendocino County. The town runs along highway 101. In Ukiah you will find motels, wineries and parks.
Point Arena A small fishing town with many small inns and restaurants, a must stop is the Point Arena Cove, located at the wharf, where you can get a nice bit to eat and enjoy the view of the ocean from your table.

Mendocino The entire village of Mendocino is one of only two towns in the state listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The regulations for remodeling and building are quite strict in order to maintain the integrity of the architecture.
Manchester New public land on the Stornetta Ranch offers access to more than 1, 000 acres of rugged cliffs, rumpled dunes, rolling meadows, picturesque sinkholes and a 50-foot waterfall that splashes merrily into the Pacific Ocean.
Little River Little River is the site of Van Damme State Park, which consists of 1,831 acres of beach. It’s located upland on the Mendocino Coast.
Irish Beach Irish Beach is a community of approximately 160 homes located 45 minutes south of Mendocino Village and three hours north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Gualala Gualala is a must-stop if you are traveling along the coast, either for an overnight stay at any of the lovely lodging establishments or for a meal at one of the fine restaurants located here.
Fort Bragg The last remaining building of the Fort Bragg military post is located at 430 North Franklin Street. It was the Quarter- master's storehouse and commissary.
Elk The Elk community has two names, also known to some as Greenwood. It started out as a lumber town in the late 1800s and continued to prosper through the early 1900s.
Caspar The land on which Caspar sits was originally federally-owned but was relinquished to and purchased by the State of California in 1912.
Albion The Albion River empties into the Pacific Ocean in Mendocino County, about four hours north of San Francisco, and about one hour north of Gualala.
Anchor Bay Anchor Bay lies in the heart of the "banana belt", because of its unique microclimate; a warm column of air from inland spills over the protective coastal mountains, making the area warmer, with less fog and wind than the surrounding areas.
Westport Westport is the furthest town along the coast of Mendocino. It is a very small town with several vacation rentals and a great little store. For the traveler looking to get away from it all, a trip to Westport would be ideal.
Boonville Boonville holds a legendary festival every year. Over forty of the nation's finest breweries are featured along with wine, food, crafts, music and fun!

Navarro The town is very small with only a few residents and not many services, but the town does have a picturesque Redwood state park and the pretty Navarro River, too.
Cleone Cleone is a small community just north of Fort Bragg, CA. The area is home to a few small inns and the MacKerricher State Park.
Laytonville The small town can make a nice stop for lunch or a place to rest for the night. It’s located north of Willts California and South of Humboldt County.
Comptche This town lies between the village of Mendocino and city of Ukiah. The town is in a very remote location. Not many services will be found here but what is here is quite nice.
Philo Philo California is located in the heart of Anderson Valley. The valley is an up-and-coming wine region. This town boasts many of the top picks in wineries.
Yorkville Yorkville is south of the town of Boonville in the Anderson Valley. This location can be a pleasant place to stop.
Leggett The very small town of Leggett is located along Highway 101. The town has a few road side attractions including a general store and drive-thru tree.
Piercy Though it’s one of the smallest towns in Mendocino, Percy is home to the world famous Reggae on the River festival, held every year.
Covelo Covelo and the Round Valley area have a strong sense of community. The small remote location seems to have been frozen in time. The valley is located about 30 miles of Laytonville.
Potter Valley The small community of Potter Valley is a beautiful wine growing area located north east of Ukiah.
Redwood Valley The undiscovered wine country of Redwood Valley is a must see if you live in or around the Mendocino region, Napa, or Sonoma County.
Calpella The small community of Calpella is located in-between Ukiah and Redwood Valley. This is less of an “official” town and more merely an area of Ukiah California.
Branscomb The small quiet town of Branscomb is located in the middle of Branscomb Road in between Westport, along Highway 1, and Laytonville, along Highway 101.
