A few steps from your tender, you will meet our team at the Wet Lizard Restaurant and Bar. Early arrivals may have time to enjoy a drink or snack at the Wet Lizard or browse the shops in the village. At the departure time, you will board one of our speed boats for the scenic ride to Caye Caulker. Your first stop will be Caye Caulker for a quick restroom break. At this point, the guests who wish to dive or fish will be introduced to their guides to begin their adventure. If you have elected to spend the "day at the beach", you will be provided instructions and can begin your exploration of Caye Caulker. The snorkelers will stay on the boat and head out to the Barrier Reef, which is about one mile from Caye Caulker.The first snorkel location is Coral Gardens, where you will be dazzled by coral formations teeming with marine life in pristine waters. After spending approximately 45 minutes of snorkeling at Coral Gardens, you will take a four-minute ride to the famous Shark Ray Alley. On most days, it's not long before rays swim toward the boat. They're attracted by the prospect of sardines and other chum fish that we toss their way.Don't worry. They're harmless. To prove the point, your tour guides will enter the water with you to help you make the most of your snorkeling experience. As rays glide around you, your guides will draw your attention to the most spectacular underwater sights and offer snorkeling advice. After roughly 45 minutes of snorkeling at Shark Ray Alley, you will return to Caye Caulker to explore the island and relax on the beach. If you selected the lunch option, you will enjoy your meal only a few feet away from the Caribbean. (Unfortunately, the nurse sharks that gave Shark Ray Alley its name are seldom seen in the area these days. We hope they come back soon.)The island of Caye Caulker offers many shops, bars/restaurants, and sightseeing experiences. The locals will warn you that a speeding ticket will be issued if you move too fast. "Laid back" is an understatement!From the island, you will board your tour boat for the trip back to the Tourism Village. Time permitting, you will be able to browse the local shops or enjoy a drink at the Wet Lizard before catching your tender back to the ship. By then, you'll likely be looking forward to your next visit to Belize.

Location of Tour Departure:This tour departs from the Tourism Village in Belize City (the dock area where the cruise ship tender boats drop off their passengers). Our meeting point is the Wet Lizard Bar & Restaurant, which is located between terminals 3 and 4. You will be met by a representative of Hammerhead Water Sports, our operations partner.Our tours are scheduled to fit within the port time of the cruise ships arriving in Belize City. We monitor the cruise ship tender schedules and plan our tour itineraries to give you plenty of time to return back to your ship.
What to Bring:Sunscreen.Beach towel.Swimsuit and cover-up.Water shoes or flip-flops.Bug spray may be needed on some days.Camera.Cash for purchases.
Level of Physical Exertion:The snorkeling portion of this tour is conducted from the snorkel boat. The water depths are 4 to 25 feet with slight to moderate currents (depending on the weather). Although snorkelers are outfitted with lifevests and flippers to keep them afloat, they should have some swimming ability to fully enjoy the tour. Entering and exiting the water is done with a ladder similar to those used in swimming pools.Caye Caulker participation requires some walking on sand paths. Golf carts are available for rental on the island.Scuba Diving is conducted along the Belize Barrier Reef and can reach depths of up to 70 feet. Divers must be at least 12 years old, hold a valid, up-to-date certificate from a reputable scuba diving training agency, and sign a medical waiver verifying their fitness to dive.Fly Fishing is conducted at the Caye Caulker Flats and requires minimal physical exertion. Fly Fishing experience will allow you to get the most out of this tour.Deep Sea Fishing is conducted in the "Deep Blue" on the other side of the reef. Minimal physical exertion is needed to participate.
Refunds and Balance Payments:Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel your reservation at least 3 days before your tour. In addition, you will receive a full refund if your cruise ship does not stop in Belize for any reason, or if weather conditions or other factors force us to cancel your reservation. Balance payments in Belize must be paid in cash with U.S. dollars or travelers checks. If you wish to pay your balance in advance by credit card, a surcharge of 4 percent of the payment amount will be charged to your credit card.
