GRAND CASINO OASIS RESORT AND SPA, GULFPORT, MISSISSIPPI

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA DUDE RANCH Reference # US70031Thank you for finding Northern California's only 3-Diamond Dude Ranch. Our ranch is 367acres surrounded by national Forest and the Trinity Alps Wilderness Area in Northern California and lies along a Creek, an excellent trout fishing stream for natives! Stockers can be found in the Trinity River, East Fork or in the Pond.
This Dude Ranch has every imaginable amenity, with the most popular still being horseback riding. The ranch breeds its own AQHA and Paints. Typically, two rides a day are scheduled, and rides are divided by ability level. Private lessons can also be scheduled. Breakfast rides are the most popular, with the all-day "wilderness" ride to a lake the most spectacular! For a unique riding experience, the all-day ride can be extended into an overnight pack trip returning the next day.
When guests aren’t out exploring the mountain trails of the Trinity Alps, there’s plenty to keep them busy back at the ranch. They can swim in the heated pool, soak in the waterfall health spa under the stars, or work out in the exercise room.
They can also try their hands at badminton, volleyball, horseshoes, table tennis, shuffleboard, kayaking, canoeing, or basketball. Guests can test their skills at the rifle and archery range. Hiking trips can be planned, and mountain bike trails parallel the Wilderness Area. Supervised summer youth programs are specially designed by age groups. The rest of the week is sprinkled with bingo, square and line dancing and a talent show.
Goldpanning and our Band, the "Rattlesnakes" will entertain you year-round and keep you coming back for MORE! You can be sure that you’ll find just what you’re looking for at the Ranch.
Small business conferences and family reunions are also welcome.

HISTORY
As rich in beauty as in history, this was originally three claims staked in 1877 by Old Charley Henseley who lost them in a poker game in 1900 to Ben Pinkham for $1. Ben grew vegetables for the miners, but realizing that the miners needed a winter home close to their mines, Pinkham's Boarding House was born, a seventeen-room hotel on 140 acres. Ben's wife, Elizabeth, established the Pinkaham School District In 1908. From 1903 to 1912, "Coffee", California, was the official post office.
Gradually the hotel became popular with city fold. In 1928, when Viva and Raymond Tapie bought the hotel from Viva's mother, they changed the name. After they sold in 1940, two owners later, the Neubauer's bought it in 1946 and the name was changed again.
The San Francisco boys club came every summer 'till about 1954, then they continued to run it as a guest ranch resort 'till they sold to relatives in 1965. Easter Sunday, 1966, the original ranch house burned to the ground in 15 minutes. A 30-day wonder, it was rebuilt and ready for the first guests June 15th. The oldest building, "Oak Grove Cottage", 1889 still stands across the creek in the pasture and presently being restored, by the current owners, who purchased it in 1976. The ranch has been handed down to the next generation and is currently run by the current owners children.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The secluded cabins at the Ranch may look rustic from the outside, but the atmosphere inside is cozy. Each cabin has a theme based on its brand; Circle B, for example, is decorated with bears, Bigfoot, and butterflies!
All fourteen cabins have tall pines and ceiling fans to help keep them cool. One ranch house room and one cabin are equipped for the handicapped. Most family cabins have wood-burning stoves where a view of the fire sets the mood for those "romantic weekend getaways" for couples. Adult/singles weeks are offered during the spring and fall.
WILDERNESS PACK TRIPS
The Trinity Alps Wilderness Area is over 517,000 acres of old growth forest, granite peaks and 130 lakes, named for the miners, ranchers, and wildlife that frequented each area in earlier times. Find out why the Swiss miner named these majestic peaks after his beloved Alps of Switzerland. We even have a Matterhorn!
MCome explore "God’s Country" for yourself, and discover another country! The lakes that we pack into on a regular basis are Conway, Lion, Foster, Union, Sugar Pine, Stoddard, and Doe Lakes. With the exception of Stoddard and Union, the lakes mentioned above have little use and are very quiet and secluded. All lakes are located within the wilderness area, and do require permits. Permits can be obtained through the ranch for your convenience.
